Living Room Furniture Layout |
When we are talking about a minimalist living room furniture layout, we need to talk about the traits of said layout. While a minimalist living room is not a hard thing to achieve, not all people can do this. The failures came not from a lack of trying, but more of a lack of knowledge. There is a layout tip or two that you can follow your living room a minimalist one, and we will discuss said tip(s) below:
First, throw away all of the things that can clutter your living room
A minimalist living room is a room that rejects all sort of clutters. If you got stuff that can clutter your living room, throw it away because it will not help in any sort of way. Not only it makes your room even more complex than it should be, a cluttered room is all-around a room that is not easy to use and move in. It will also potentially invite questioning looks from your guests because nobody dislikes having to sit or lounge in a place that is too cluttered.
Second, make sure to save some space for space
Obnoxious play of words aside, a minimalist room incorporates space in it. Without ample spaces, a room can never be a minimalist room. A room without spaces in them will look cluttered, even when the room did not have lots of furniture in it. For short, make spaces to move and make sure your guests and you can ‘flow’ smoothly inside the room.
Third, put the couches to the walls
This is a tip that can double as a tip for small living rooms (never say that Living Room Minimalist does not care for other living room sizes). To make a room minimalistic and to reduce clutter, bring all the sofas and the seats to the walls. This way, you can make your room less cluttered by using all of the available spaces. Save the middle area for something that normally works as an island. Coffee tables usually work, but you can omit the tables and you can even go for nothing if you want it.
If you got complex furniture that you do not want to sell or store, put it in the corner of the room
The corner of a living room is basically a place that is often overlooked, hence the reason why you should put those complex furniture there. Some furniture, however, is too complex and can serve as a bad contrast to the overall minimalist look that the living room got. Things like an ornate mirror, ornate frames, ornate chairs and tables will not fit a minimalist room. For those things, there is no other option but to throw the things away to the basement or to the thrift shop because they will never work in a minimalist living room furniture layout.
